What’s New in Augmentus version 2.8.0: September 2025 Update

This release focuses on stability, speed and smoother workflows.

Key Enhancements and New Features

Faster Flyby Scanning

Autoscan are now optimized to maintain sub-mm accuracy at higher speeds* across major robot brands (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, UR).

ABB Omnicore Integration

You can now connect seamlessly with ABB’s latest Omnicore controllers. This ensures smooth deployment on new robot models, helps future-proof your systems, and expands compatibility beyond older IRC5 controllers.

Path Optimizer

We have improved path optimizer so that you can now generate them more quickly and with higher success rates. The updated algorithm reduces processing time and improves zero-shot success rate.

New Hand-Eye Calibration Workflow

You can now calibrate your Augmentus line scanner using Hand-eye calibration with a few manual steps. The new workflow is integrated into the Augmentus server, allowing user to obtain an accurate HEC with spherical jigs.


Improvements to Existing Features

  • Generate waypoints more smoothly for AutoGen features with better transition and motion profiles. Overall performance is faster.

  • Simplified AutoScan workflows and support for legacy ABB modes.

  • Adjustable collider accuracy for custom imported tools to reduce false collisions.

  • Refined Camera controls, panels, tooltips, and Loadout pages for a clearer and faster interface.

  • Expanded Robot support with ABB Omnicore, KUKA, and new FANUC models.

  • Boosted performance with optimized motion generation and lower memory usage.


Bug Fixes

  • Resolved duplicate and outdated waypoints, addressed false collisions, speed calculations and inconsistent waypoint displays.

  • Smoother AutoScan process with better external-axis handling.

  • Improved stability when importing Tools and CAD files, with backups and restores capturing all data correctly.

  • Fixed UI glitches across PC builds, recipe tables, and error messages for smoother experience.

  • Enhanced calibration reliability, external-axis planning, and overall crash resistance.


Augmentus Server Improvements

  • You can now perform hand-eye calibration (HEC) after installing the server . This feature improves precision by aligning the robot and sensor, making your workflows faster and more reliable.
